Class of 2011
Andrew Graves
MBA
Prior to pursuing his MBA at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, Andrew was an Assistant Vice President in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of Zurich Financial Services. His responsibilities included sourcing, structuring, and negotiating M&A transactions from an insurance and risk management perspective. Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Andrew was an Associate at Siguler Guff & Co., a New York based Private Equity firm. Prior to that, he was a Financial Analyst in the Financial Restructuring Group at Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin. Andrew holds a B.S. from the Wayne Calloway School of Business at Wake Forest University, with a concentration in Finance. Andrew interned in the Investment Management Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. during the summer of 2010 and has joined Goldman Sachs’ Investment Management Division - Private Wealth Management following graduation.

Erin Gray
BSBA
Erin was an undergraduate at The University of North Carolina, where she studied economics and business administration at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. She was a finance intern in the corporate accounting division at Wachovia in Charlotte during Summer 2008, and participated in the Barclays Capital Wall Street Scholars Program in January 2009. Erin interned in the consumer and retail investment banking division at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York during the summer of 2010. Erin joined Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division following graduation.
Brad Hudson
MBA
Prior to pursuing his MBA at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, Brad was a Vice President with BB&T Capital Markets, where he assisted in the establishment of the firm’s structured products platform and advised executive management on strategies for distressed and non-performing assets. Prior to joining BB&T Capital Markets, Brad was an Associate with Banc of America Securities, where he worked in Real Estate Investment Banking and Global Structured Products. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Brad interned with Wexford Capital, a private equity sponsor in Greenwich, Connecticut with more than $6 billion under management. He joined U.S. Farm Realty Trust following graduation.

Elizabeth Kelly
MBA
Prior to pursuing her MBA at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, Elizabeth was an investment analyst at Pappas Ventures, a life science venture capital firm managing $350 million in capital across four venture funds. She gained exposure to all aspects of the venture business, including launching and raising a $105 million fund, and managing the firm’s deal flow, participating in due diligence efforts to see eight deals materialize into portfolio companies. A double major, she holds a B.A. in both Management and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During the summer of 2010, Elizabeth worked in Business Development for Liquidia Technologies, a venture-backed biotechnology company located in Research Triangle Park, NC. She joined Chimerix, a venture-backed biotechnology firm based in Durham, following graduation as the Manager of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development, reporting directly to the CEO.

Trey Lambert
JD/MBA
Prior to pursuing his JD/MBA at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and School of Law, Trey was an analyst with BB&T Capital Partners, where he invested equity and mezzanine capital in a variety of transactions. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina. Trey was a Summer Associate with Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice during the summer of 2009, interned with The Halifax Group during the summer of 2010, and was a Summer Associate with Latham & Watkins during the summer of 2011. Though his active role with the fund has ended, Trey will continue to provide advice through his graduation in 2012.

Brian Stockton
BSBA
Brian was an undergraduate at The University of North Carolina, where he studied economics and business administration at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. Brian interned as a summer analyst at the boutique investment bank VRA Partners in Atlanta, GA during the Summer 2009. Brian interned in the investment banking division at UBS Securities in New York during the summer of 2010 and joined UBS’s leverage finance group following graduation.

Andy Wright
MBA
Prior to pursuing his MBA at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, Andy was a Manager in Grant Thornton’s Transaction Advisory Services practice, where he performed financial due diligence and provided transaction support for strategic and financial buyers. He holds a B.A. from Davidson College and a master of accountancy from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington’s Cameron School of Business. He is a CPA licensed in North Carolina. Andy interned in the investment banking and capital markets division of Wells Fargo Securities during the summer of 2010 and joined the mergers and acquisitions group at Wells Fargo Securities following graduation.

Ray DeLaughter
MBA
Prior to his MBA at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, Ray spent six years in real estate development at Terra Craft, Inc., where he focused on due diligence activities. At Terra Craft, Ray initiated and closed on projects valued at more than $30 million. Ray also has experience in securities and futures trading and holds Series 7 and Series 3 licenses. Ray holds a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University. Following graduation, Ray joined Deloitte Consulting.

Zac Frost
MBA
Prior to his MBA at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, Zac was a vice president in client development for First Data (KKR portfolio company). He previously worked at West Corporation in the M&A and strategy team, which led the company’s acquisition efforts and coordinated taking the company private. He started his career in investment banking with Banc of America Securities LLC, where he was an analyst and subsequently an associate. He holds a B.A. from Bowdoin College and was a varsity soccer letter winner. Zac interned with The Halifax Group during the Summer 2009 in Washington, DC. Following graduation, Zac joined Lazard Middle Market in Minneapolis, MN.

Michael Kopeikin
MBA
Prior to his MBA at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, Michael was an analyst at Morgan Stanley in New York City and an associate at Great Circle Capital, LLC in Stamford, Connecticut where he was involved in buyout and expansion capital opportunities in Southeastern Europe across the transportation, infrastructure and logistics sectors. He graduated with distinction with a B.S. and B.A. from the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond, Virginia. He is a dual American and European citizen and speaks fluent Czech and French. Michael interned at Google, Inc. in Europe during the Summer 2009 where he was responsible for new business development and evaluated growth opportunities within the Central and Eastern European markets. Following graduation, Michael joined the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Jefferies & Co. in New York City.
Virat Mehta
MBA
Prior to his MBA at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, Virat spent five years in Accenture’s consulting practice, where he helped clients improve their billing and collections processes, and implemented financial controls in preparation for SAS70 and SOX audits. Virat also managed large-scale IT transformations, including the outsourcing of billing, customer care, and call center operations to offshore delivery centers. Virat holds a B.S. in Computer Science with Distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During the Summer 2009, Virat interned as a summer associate at Jacobs Capital, a boutique investment banking firm in Raleigh, NC. Following graduation, Virat joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in their Technology, Media and Telecom Investment Banking group.

Allen Mask
B.A. Journalism and Mass Communication
Allen was a undergraduate at The University of North Carolina, where he studied media management and strategy in the UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He participated in the Barclays Capital Wall Street Scholars Program in the Winter 2008 and interned as a summer analyst with the investment banking division at Goldman Sachs in New York during the Summer 2009. He joined Goldman Sachs following graduation.

Swathi Putcha
BSBA
Swathi was a senior undergraduate at The University of North Carolina, where she studied business and finance at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. She participated in Credit Suisse’s Wall Street Immersion Program during the Summer 2008, and was a finance intern at Genworth Financial in Richmond, VA during the Summer 2009. Following graduation, Swathi joined the Global Macroeconomic Research division at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York.

Allen Avery
MBA
Before getting his MBA at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, Allen worked for five years as a Producer for Super-Ego Games, a start-up video game developer. Prior to this, he worked for LivePerson, a software as a service provider, and for two mutual fund companies. Allen spent the Summer 2008 working with several local businesses as a Carolina Entrepreneurial Fellow. He attended the University of Virginia and received a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Eric Boggs
MBA
Before his MBA at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, Eric led sales and product initiatives at Bronto Software, an early-stage online marketing software provider. He spent the Summer 2008 consulting with three Durham-based technology start-ups as a Carolina Entrepreneurial Fellow. Eric received a B.S. in Business Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill. Following graduation, Eric launched Argyle Social - a software company that provides marketers and small businesses tools to manage and measure social media marketing efforts.

Lewelyn D’Souza
MBA
Before his MBA at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, Lewelyn led product development teams at leading semiconductor companies, most recently for Altera Corporation. He also helped establish the first revenue stream for Helix Micro, a tech startup, in a consulting role. Lewelyn holds a M.S. in Computer Engineering from Iowa State. Lewelyn interned with Lehman Brothers during the Summer 2008 and joined Barclays Capital’s Investment Banking Division after graduation.

Kate Kitsopoulos
MBA
Before her MBA at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, Kate researched drug development, most recently at the Biotech start-up AlphaVax, Inc. Kate received a B.S. in Biology from Texas A&M University and a M.S. in Biotechnology from Pennsylvania State University. Kate interned with Deloitte Consulting during the Summer 2008 and joined Campbell Alliance, a life science consulting firm, as a Business Development Consultant after graduation.

Sarah Rutledge

Sarah graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from Kenan-Flagler Business School. She interned with Banc of America Securities during the Summer 2008 in Charlotte, NC, and joined its Syndicated Loan Capital Markets group after graduation.

Matt Smith
BSBA
Matt graduated with a B.S in Business Administration from Kenan-Flagler Business School. He interned with Morgan Keegan & Co. during the Summer 2008 in Atlanta, GA. During his time at UNC, he also interned at UNC Management Company - on the Private Investments Team. Matt is currently working as an Analyst with Morgan Keegan’s Investment Banking Group in Atlanta, GA.

Kate Blanchard
MBA
For seven years prior to purusing her MBA, Ms. Blanchard was a Manager at Celerant Consulting, an operations and strategic consulting firm. During business school, Kate was a Carolina Venture Fellow at Hatteras Venture Partners, a life science focused venture capital firm in Durham, NC. Following graduation, she joined ArtusLabs (a Hatteras and KFPE portfolio company) as VP of Marketing and Product Management .

Christy Ferguson
MBA
Christy Ferguson received her Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and was a faculty member at Yale University prior to pursuing her MBA. During her time at Kenan-Flagler, she was a Carolina Venture Fellow at Golden Pine Ventures, a seed-stage biotechnology venture capital firm. Christy is now Director of Corporate Development at Labcorp.

RD Gauss
MBA
Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler, R.D. spent two years as an associate with Harris Private Bank and two years as an analyst with BB&T Wealth Management in Washington, DC focusing on investment management for high-net worth clients. He spent the Summer 2007 as an investment banking associate at Morgan Stanley, where he has been working since graduation. He attended UNC-Chapel Hill and received a B.A. in economics and history.

Anand Maheshwari
MBA
For seven years prior to pursuing his MBA, Anand was a Project Manager at HCL, a leading global technology and IT company and has worked with leading corporations in US, Europe and South Africa. He spent the Summer 2007 as a banking associate at ING DIRECT Securities working on strategy, valuation, and third-party fund selection for their mutual funds portfolio. He attended Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, INDIA and received a B. Tech in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering. Anand currently works for Mu Sigma, helping clients institutionalize analytics in their organizations.
