Investment Approach
Student managers source investment opportunities with our LPs and the network of friends of the university who are investors or partners in private equity and venture capital funds.
The Fund invests opportunistically in a strategic mix of buyout, mezzanine debt, growth capital and venture capital transactions - mostly sourced through our LPs and the network of UNC Kenan-Flagler alumni that are active private equity or venture capital professionals.
Upon identifying a promising deal, students conduct due diligence and research and present investment decisions a Faculty Advisor. All investments require final approval from the Board of Directors.
The Fund typically invests $100,000 to $325,000 in syndication with leading investment funds, with no investment exceeding 20% of committed capital.
